WHO AM I?

Richard Blackburn is a highly skilled editor, visual effects artist, and graphic designer with extensive experience in the film and television industry. Born in Scotland and raised in Wales, he developed a passion for filmmaking early on, inspiring him to pursue a degree in Film at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design. During his studies, he refined his post-production skills, creating several short films and developing a strong interest in editing and visual storytelling.

Upon graduating in 2004, Richard began his career at London-based post-production facility Zero DB, where he progressed from editing assistant to Head of Post Production. Over seven years, he contributed to a wide range of television projects, expanding his expertise in editing, motion graphics, and visual effects.

Now based in Berlin, Richard has been working as a freelance editor, motion graphics designer, and VFX artist for over a decade, collaborating on international feature films and diverse multimedia projects. His skill set spans video editing, motion graphics, graphic design, and visual effects, with proficiency in industry-standard software such as After Effects, Cinema 4D, Photoshop, and Octane Render. His recent credits include Take Cover (2024), Marmalade (2024), Chief of Station (2024), All Souls (2023), and Little Bone Lodge (2023), among many others.

With a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of both technical and creative aspects of post-production, Richard continues to bring compelling visual storytelling to life, delivering high-quality content for global audiences.
